Event Details

Do you have a child between the ages of 0-32 months? Do you wonder how much you talk with your child? LENA Start is a 11-week, virtual program that will increase your child’s language development. Families will receive a “talk pedometer” that counts the number of words, conversational turns, and electronics your child hears in a day. We will meet weekly to give you tips on how to increase conversational turns. For more information contact Evan Childress, echildress@ppld.org. Pre-registration REQUIRED.

THIS 11-WEEK VIRTUAL PROGRAM INCLUDES A MANDATORY IN-PERSON ORIENTATION SESSION. THE MANDATORY IN-PERSON ORIENTATION IS AT A LIBRARY LOCATION ON 

  • Tuesday, September 6, noon - 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 7, 6 - 7 p.m.

LENA Start is offered on different days. These are separate cohort sessions. You may only register for one session series. If you would like to register for an in-person session, please visit ppld.org/LENAStart. Open to residents of El Paso County and Teller County only. If you have previously completed the LENA Start program, you are not eligible to participate again.
