Amigurumi

is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. The word is a compound of the Japanese words ami, meaning "crocheted or knitted", and kurumi, literally "wrapping".

Amigurumi vary in size and there are no restrictions about size or look. During this 2-hour class the students will learn how to start the project making a magic ring, and continue working in circular rows to build up the toy using increases and decreases. They will then learn how to stuff and decorate it. The finished project can be an owl, a chick, a bird, a cat, or another cute animal.
