METALSHOP-Welding & Tools Certification

Learning Outcome:  This 5hr certification class will provide you with the instruction to enable you to independently use the MIG welders and metalshop tools at the MAC.

Who is this class for? Age 18+ only but parents may attend this class, get certified, and then independently teach their own children. Under 18s must be supervised in the welding area at all times.

Class Description

You will learn:

  • Required safety equipment - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Set up the MIG welder

  • Correct usage of the MIG welder

  • Expectation for clean up of the metal shop after use

NB: registrants MUST wear jeans and closed-toe shoes

 

Teacher: Mike Decker

Mike Decker has been in the industry for 50 years.  He is the instructor at General Air Service in Colorado Springs.  Mike is a studio artist at the MAC and will be teaching our members on-site including other community groups such as D11 High Schoolers.
