Young Frankenstein from 1974, rated PG, starring Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, and Teri Garr. Description: A brain surgeon who inherits a family castle in Transylvania soon becomes obsessed with making his own monster after learning the family secrets.

Beetlejuice from 1988, rated PG, starring Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O'Hara, Winona Ryder, and Michael Keaton. Description: After Barbara and Adam Maitland are killed in a car crash, they find themselves trapped as ghosts in their beautiful New England farmhouse. Their peaceful 'existence' is disrupted when a yuppie family, the Deetz's, buy their house. The Maitlands are too nice and harmless as ghosts and all their efforts to scare the Deetz's away are unsuccessful. They decide to call to Beetlejuice, a people-exorcizing ghost, for help.
