Description

Only Flying: Poems and Stories from Badass Women Writers is a celebration of story and beauty and what it takes to be badass: the guts to speak up for what vibrates within us as right, as just, as sacred. The guts to believe in ourselves and our voices and the possibility of a better world if we refuse to be silenced. Brook Bhagat will read "Jump (Magic Pants)," "Mars Kisses Cling Hard," and other pieces from her new poetry collection, Only Flying; Carina Bissett will read “Twice in the Telling,” from the anthology Upon a Twice Time; Amie Sharp will read from her award-winning poetry chapbook, The Sabine Women; and Cindy Skaggs will read from her forthcoming novel, Janet: Army of One. Following the readings will be a Q & A session with the writers, and the winners of the book raffle will be drawn. Then, authors will be available to sign and sell books. NSFW- readings will include profanity and subjects that may not be suitable for children. Free to the public.
