Feel free to join us for the virtual version of the Carnelian Coffee Book Group, facilitated by the Pikes Peak Library District. Multiple copies are available through PPLD.

We celebrate November Nordic Noir Month by delving into the work of Iceland's Ragnar Jonasson.

This Scandinavian crime fiction superstar earned his start translating Agatha Christie novels into Icelandic and built an international reputation comparable to Arnaldur Indrioason and Yrsa Suguroardottir by mining the small-town subgenre.

Please read ONE of these suggestions: Snowblind (six copies, rookie cop Ari Thor, Dark Iceland #1, 2015); The Darkness (three copies, retired DI Hulda Hermannsdottir, Hidden Iceland #1, 2018); The Girl Who Died (young teacher in isolated village, pop. 10, not including ghost(s), three copies, 2021).

The group will discuss the works, look for commonalities in the novels and themes, and talk about Jonasson's career and future.
