Are you a writer? Do you have a voice? Do you trust it?

If not, this workshop can help. Through intuitive writing, participants learn how to trust their words, refine artistic vision, and rouse imagination. You can also use the prompts to develop fictional characters, sharpen the point of your story, work through writer’s block, or generate story ideas.

The workshop includes three inspired readings around one theme, writing prompts from those readings, time to write, and the option to share.

Channeling what’s in your head and heart through your hands and onto the page embeds a pathway in your brain. Eventually, you write to discover what’s inside. After a while, a feeling of artistic identity develops as voice emerges. With repeated practice, your creative voice refuses to be accommodating or repressed. In story decisions, you’ll check in and notice what feels right, then trust that choice, knowing you can revise later. And with this trust in your words comes a freedom to be who you are.

Everyone is a unique individual, and that means you have a unique voice. When you trust your words, you discover your voice.

No experience necessary. This workshop is open to people who want to reconnect with their creativity, as well as aspiring authors and well-paid professionals. Please bring a journal and a pen.

This workshop is funded in part by a grant from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts and Colorado Creative Industries.
