Pikes Peak Library District is closed Fri., Jan. 16, for staff development and Mon., Jan. 19, to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The eLibrary, as well as other online services and resources, will still be available.

Event Details

Rocket Academy is a library and school program where kids train to be astronauts! In the process, we'll teach them about space through hands-on activities, including a chance to build and launch paper rockets. Other demos include a large "orbit hoop" where kids can use marbles to mimic planet orbits, creating a vacuum with soda cans and hot water, and a fun physical recreation of the solar system orbits where the kids spin around each other to represent the planets.
