Pikes Peak Live! is an all-day event that consists of performing art workshops that will conclude with a talent showcase by the participants for the public. Full details of the event here.
The poetry workshop will be led by Ashley Cornelius (current Pikes Peak Poet Laureate). Participants will learn:
- How to craft stories that express themselves with literary devices and imagery.
- There will be open discussion and guided writing prompts to support the creation of at least two original, poetic works and the opportunity to perform!
- We will use a combination of poetic form as well as reverse and prose for a well-rounded writing experience.
- Tips and techniques for performing on stage in front of an audience.
Participants can opt to perform for Pikes Peak Live! Showcase at 3.00 p.m.
Seats are limited to 16 people for this workshop. Ages 16 and older.

Singing and Performance Workshop
Notes: The workshops are provided at no cost. Parking is $1.50 an hour. Participant gets the first 2 hours free with a library card (must scan the library card at the parking kiosk).
