Join Pikes Peak Library District for the release of the newest title in the Regional History Series, Military Matters: Defense, Development, & Dissent in the Pikes Peak Region.
Regional History and Genealogy staff members will consider the multitude of ways the military has shaped, contributed to, and transformed the Pikes Peak Region followed by a panel discussion with three retired veterans living in the region.

William Thomas is a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer with twenty-five years of active service. He is a member of the American Legion Honor Guard providing final military honors for veterans throughout the Pikes Peak Region. He is also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4051.

Terrance D. McWilliams served in the US Army for over 30 years retiring as the 7th Infantry Division and Fort Carson Command Sergeant Major. Terrance joined El Pomar Foundation in 2007 where he served as Senior Vice President, Military and Veteran affairs and Director of the Wildland Fire Fund.

Christina Martinez joined the Army as a Combat Medic and within two years of service, she became a Flight Medical Aidman. After nearly 16 years of service, at the rank of Sergeant First Class, Christina departed the Army and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. Christina completed an additional four years of service, retiring with 20 years of service in 2020. Since retiring from the military, Christina completed a Master of Social Work through the University of Southern California and has dedicated herself to serving the military community.
