Event Details
The 2023 Pikes Peak Poetry Summit theme is "Art is a Bridge to New Perspectives." This year we are celebrating poetry across Colorado with features from all over the state. Full details of the event here.
In this brief writing workshop, Becoming // Poetry co-founder Katie Scruggs Galloway will teach about techniques of repetition and how they can underscore the meaning & music of a poem. Then the group will put the techniques to practice in a series of free writes before drafting a poem.
Katie is a writer and editor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is the co-creator of Becoming // Poetry where she writes spontaneous poems on her Smith-Corona typewriter and hosts writing workshops, celebrating humanity through creativity and honesty. When she’s not working with words, you can find Katie creating through music (Color Math on Spotify) and film photography (@k.galloway_).
The workshops are provided at no cost. All workshops are 45 minutes in duration. Please prepare change for the metered parking.
Seats are limited to 15 people for this workshop. Ages 12 and older.
