Description

Image removed.

Tatting is an old craft technique for creating intricate lacy projects using thin thread and a shuttle. Also called frivolite (French), the lace is constructed using a series of knots and loops.

The craft is relatively easy to master.

This technique is great for making beautiful jewelry (bracelets, earrings, necklaces, brooches), doilies, collars, edging to embellish textiles, 3D decorations, Christmas ornaments, bookmarks, elements for gifts and cards, single motifs for clothing, or large scale lace projects like curtains, tablecloths, purses, and fashion accessories.

During the introductory 2-hour class the students learn how to read a pattern, practice basic elements of tatting, and create a small project (a pair of earrings or a bookmark) to take home.
