Join Wendy Smith as she provides an informative presentation about the risks of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking, and how safe use of the Internet can prevent this situation. Parents and minors are invited to gain an understanding of the risks associated with the internet and the importance of being vigilant and safe when online. This presentation is recommended for ages 18 and up, 12-17 with a caregiver. Resources will be available for more information.
About the Speaker: Wendy J. Smith, RN, MSN, ACNP- retired, worked in the medical field for over 40 years, specializing in hematology/oncology. During her healthcare career she published within her profession in both text and peer reviewed journals. She has also been a speaker on the state and national level addressing issues pertinent to hematology/oncology nursing, and advocacy for her patients and profession. Since retiring, Wendy has been able to focus on issues impacting our culture today, especially those involving human dignity, such as human trafficking and abortion. Wendy volunteers with four anti-trafficking organizations and has been involved in prison ministry weekly for 18+ years, which has provided her with a diverse view of the complexity surrounding this issues. Ms. Smith is also a Fellow with the Colson Center for Christian Worldview.
