Tween 9-12Program Description
Event Details
Learn to design and make mountains of cool button pins using Inkscape (a free software), finding images online, clipping images from magazines/comics, and drawing your own designs.
We will teach you some basics of Inkscape, how to print using PPLD’s wireless printing services, and how to press pin-back buttons. With these skills, you can make buttons at makerspaces at East and Sand Creek libraries, as well as Library 21c for any occasion. No previous experience required, and all materials provided. Ages 9 – 12.
This class is only for tweens ages 9 – 12, however we have other button design classes for ages 9 and up as well. You can also find classes on using Inkscape with the laser cutter for tweens, teens, adults, and seniors at all three makerspaces.
All participants will need to have a makerspace waiver signed by an adult guardian in order to attend this class or use the makerspace. The signer must be present and show an ID for the waiver. An adult guardian will need to be with the participant in the makerspace at all times.
All participants must have their own library card. Please contact one of the makerspaces for more information.
