In this workshop, participants will learn about the life cycle of decomposer fungi and how to grow them using a basic log cultivation method.

Everyone will have the chance to drill, inoculate, and take home a hardwood log plugged with turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) mycelium. This medicinal mushroom provides a wide range of benefits to the immune system through its antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer properties.

We hope you will join us!

Open to High Schoolers and Adults (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).

Learning Outcome: Participants will be able to understand the life cycle of decomposer fungi, and will know how to inoculate and care for a hardwood log that contains mycelium!
