Ruth Holley Library will be temporarily closed for approximately one week starting Mon., Dec. 2 to complete roof repairs.

All Pikes Peak Library District locations will close at 6 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 27 and will be closed on Thu., Nov. 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Rockrimmon Library will close on Sun., Dec. 1.

Manitou Springs Library is temporarily closed to prepare for its move in early 2025.

Event Details

Explore our city’s relationship with health and disease. Understand what Tuberculosis is, how it was treated, and why thousands of “seekers” came to Colorado Springs searching for a cure. Students will also compare and contrast the experience of people during the tuberculosis era to our experiences today with the COVID-19 pandemic. Please have these items on hand for the program: paper/something to write with, thermometer, drink (milk preferred but anything works!), snack (bread, eggs, beef would be true to the TB diet but anything works!)

This program is for ages 8 and older.
