Program Description

Event Details

This is an adult and child class, much like a mommy and me, but open to all grown ups who want to learn how to sew with their child, or niece or nephew or neighbor.  Children must be 6 years or older to attend.

The class is a beginning sewing project that results in 1 ready-to-use pillowcase for each participant. It introduces participants to sewing on the machine and teaches simple straight sewing. A take-home sheet will help you continue to make pillowcases at home from the fabric you prefer.

Learning Objective: become familiar with a sewing machine, and sew a straight line

Learning Outcome: Learn how to sew on a sewing machine

Supplies: Participant must bring these:

Fabric should be washed, dried in dryer, and ironed before class.

  1. 1 yard for each pillow - 2 yards total
  2. 1/3 yard contrasting fabric for the pillow cuff for each pillow - 2/3 yard total

Cost: $25 MAC members/$30 Non-Members
