This community connections event, formally known as Speed Boarding, will connect community organizations seeking skilled volunteers, passionate community trustees, and board members to those ready to serve. Leadership Pikes Peak loves connecting leaders (present and future) with each other. Your talents combined with your passion will serve an organization and ultimately our community, well.

Skills-based volunteering (SBV) is when volunteers contribute their professional skills, often providing expertise to directly supporting a nonprofit’s internal operations, strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of the organization. SBV is a powerful driver of social change, and is a unique approach to community engagement that matches employees’ workplace skills, expertise and knowledge with nonprofit needs to increase their impact in the community. By leveraging all types of skills, from IT support and strategic planning to marketing and HR consulting, SBV helps nonprofits expand their reach and become more sustainable, while allowing employees an opportunity to build their leadership skills, and give back to a cause they believe in.
