Take your creativity to the next level with PPLD’s CNC router! The Shop Bot Desktop CNC is an all-in-one computer-controlled mill, router, and drill that lets you make your own projects with wood or acrylic. Learn the basics of designing with V-Carve Pro and then carve out your project on the CNC. Transfer these skills to make custom signs, cutting boards, and picture frames that you could not do on other machines. What will you create? All materials provided. Ages 16 and up.
No previous experience required, but an understanding of vector graphics will help. If you are new to vector graphics, you may want to take one of the Inkscape Design Level 1 classes first.
After completing this badging class, you will be able to use the CNC machine on your own during open hours at the Library 21c makerspace (reservations recommended).
Makerspace classes can fill up quickly, so it is best to register close to when registration opens. If you are unable to register for this class, you can find at the Library 21c makerspace.
All participants must have their own library card. Please contact one of the makerspaces for more information.

Creative space agreement: Patrons under 18 will need a signed Creative Space Use Agreement for Minors (en español) to use the makerspaces. You are encouraged to submit this at the class so that we have it on file. You must be at least 9 years of age to be in the makerspaces or to attend this class. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
